Wedding Theme

Many people like to incorporate a wedding theme into their big day. You can do this in a small way by having a theme colour to decorate the reception and asking your guests to dress in the colour. You could also go for a big theme and have your guests wear costumes and have your cake, decorations and bridal dress made to match.

A theme can really pull a wedding together and the planning stage of the wedding is a good time to think about whether you will have a theme in your wedding.

Theme Ideas

Princess Wedding This is quite an easy theme to pull off because many bridal decorations and dresses are princess like anyway. Go over the top with decorations and try to have lots of sparkly colours like gold, pearl and silver. You can also get princess wedding favors.

1950’s Wedding I love this theme. The 1950’s was a movie age. Going to the movies was one of the countries main social activities. With a 1950’s theme you can feel like a movie star. Have a red carpet to walk into your reception, hire a band to play while you eat your meal and get everyone to dress in 1950’s style. Christian Dior designed a dress in the 1950’s that would make a perfect wedding dress. If you really want to fit in with your theme see if you can get a dress that is a close match.

Red & Black This theme will work with any two colours but is easiest with Black and red compliments it wonderfully. Have all the men dress in black suits and all the women in red dresses. Have black and red decorations and a black and red cake. The result really does look fantastic because everything co-ordinates.
